Happy New Decade!!

Welcome to 2011. 2011. It doesn't really roll off of the tongue easily does it? will we say twenty eleven, or two thousand eleven, or two oh one one? Hmmmmm.....
either way you say it, it's another year, and another decade... time is ticking away.

For those of you who have already welcomed in the New Year, I hope you had a nice celebration. For those of you still celebrating, be careful and have fun!!

Me, I stayed in as usual. I can't think of the last time I actually went out on New Year's Eve, which is fine by me. I downloaded a couple movies, bought some wine, cheese, crackers and sausage, and got into bed to relax and wait for 2010 to be over. My husband drank sake and fell asleep by 10 p.m.! I drank a glass of sake (after having a glass of beer at dinner), then a glass of wine, tried to watch Forbidden Planet and fell asleep, then watched half of Inception . Went to sleep by 1 a.m. Nothing too exciting. But I was warm and had my kitty sleeping next to me, so I was happy!
For me, New Year's Eve is not a celebration but a chance to reflect and be glad I'm still in this crazy rat race.

I hope that 2011 is a better year for everyone. 2010 surely wasn't a good year, what with all the natural disasters worldwide, and with the passing of my father. But 2009 wasn't a good year either with my husband losing his job. So will this year be any better? Let's hope so. I will be losing my job in April, but we are trying very hard to get this school going, and I have positive feelings about it.

If I get motivated, I might write more later about my reflections on 2010, and my hopes for 2011. But for now, Happy New Year and Happy New Decade! Thanks to all of you for being part of my life!!

Happy New Year! I'll be saying Twenty Eleven just like I was saying Twenty Ten!!

A quiet night in sounds nice, mine was also sort of a quiet night in, just had a few close friends round!

I like the idea of the solstice representing a new year. we should follow natural signs rather than a date on the calendar, but people love tradition and routine don't they?

I have resolutions in my mind, some are different from last year and some the same. it's better not to write them down, though - because then they become more obligatory.

no progress - I guess that's how my 2010 was too. 2011 has to be better, or I just don't know about the future...
I'm trying to stay positive. thanks for your help staying focused!

I never do anything for new yrs eve either, I just never saw a reason to ring in the new yr. Yrs are always the same, there's a lot of bad and a lot of good big freaking deal! I've never had a whole yr be really good for me but hey that's life right?

Sounds like you had a good new yrs though, relaxing at home is always nice. I hope that this yr is good for all of us ♥ I can hope can't I?

I agree with you. I haven't done anything on New Year's eve for about 10 years, to be honest. I always stay home and just drink and eat and enjoy being safe and quiet. you're right about it just being another year - things are not going to change just because the year changed. I hope that we can have a good year - hope is very important!!

I've only done something on new yrs eve once before, at my sis' house but that's it. I usually never drink ^_^ *LOL* not since vegas, had a bad experience that I don't want to duplicate. Yes exactly that's what I say too. It cracks me up when people think its going to be all wonderful *eye roll* Yes I hope that most of the yr is better especially in the next few months so we can leave

I never drink much on New Year's eve or any time. Just enough to relax and enjoy the evening:) I've had bad drinking experiences too, so I can understand!

so far my year is turning out to be confusing. but that's pretty much normal for our lives - trying to figure out the best path.

Yeah me neither, I don't drink or very rarely so when I do Tony's like what? Tony's friends all like to tease me whenever we went out because I wouldn't be drinking ^_^ I'd have water.

Yes I agree, same here now. At least Tony's got a job till March
