the AIM is a good idea, but since I am living in a different time zone, and I can't possibly know when others are on, it won't work. Plus the problem is that my family and some friends just don't spend time online or on the computer (my sister and I talk by phone and she's never sent me an email). Its just frustrating when all of a sudden, no one is writing. Usually I have at least one or two emails every couple days... its harder since I'm living far away from all my family and good friends and I can't call - its too expensive!

and actually I disagree that time is needed to write a response. I think most people feel that when they write an email it has to take time and thought. thats why they don't write. but really all that is necessary is actually saying hello - that doesn't take much time. but that's just my opinion, and since I love emailing, I just assume that others do too . . . oh well!
