I'm so unbelieavably tired. and I think I spelled that word wrong and I don't care!
Sunday was tiring enough being gone all day with M at his recording session and getting home near midnight. and then Monday I was just stressed all day and had a lesson at 7 p.m. and afterwards we went to M's friend's house to talk to them about our future plans. We stayed there for four hours and didn't get home until after midnight! Of course I didn't understand much of what they discussed, but it was a very good thing we went there. M needed to find out about the options (there were some job possibilities) in Yokohama, and it turns out that both are part time jobs and it might be hard to make a living if we stay in Japan. So they convinced us (M's two friends) to go back to Chicago. M will play music and he might start an online trading business selling Japanese stuff in the states, and sending American stuff to his contacts in Japan to sell here. It might be fun for him, and after awhile it might turn out to be lucrative. He's pretty positive about the move, even though he'll have to give up the band he just met here, and the friends he's made. there are really a lot of nice people here in Japan, and of course there's the nature that we will be giving up too. i'm sacrificing a lot too by quitting teaching, and leaving some of my friends. But its all with the distant future in mind - we have some big ideas that don't involve staying in Chicago forever... but we need to go back there first so that we can work towards the next step. that's the way life works. and we need a change now. And change requires sacrifice and it will take courage and a positive attitude to make it work.
anyway, after two nights of going to bed late, and with all of the stress of this decision, I'm beat! Plus, I'm trying to work out getting an apartment now, and sending money and letters, etc.
so, tomorrow we are going to the Izu again to meet M's friend and family. they will surf, and I will go to the onsen and get some much needed sleep and relaxation. and read my book ("The Shipping News" by Annie Proulx which is awesome so far)...
I will get back in touch with everyone when everything is all sorted out - probably by the weekend I will be more relaxed - and then ready to begin the next phase: MOVING!! eeeeeee!!!!
and I also hope to do some more writing (my Japan guide and other things)...
anyway, I hope everyone has a great day and week!
