The sun came out today and it was so nice to see it! Of course it's still cold at night, but that's okay.
I went for a short walk to the convenience store and took a good look at my surroundings - it's just one week before I leave Fuji to return to the U.S. I'm a little sad, but also excited. I noticed that the cherry blossoms are almost all gone - they were so beautiful while they lasted! I will miss some things about this neighborhood- the peace, the trees, the interesting houses and people. But later this week I'll post the things I won't miss about living here... stay tuned!
Today was so busy, and I'm quite tired. And since tomorrow will be even busier, I am signing off soon and going to sleep. I feel really good though - I'm all done packing (two boxes are on the way and I got another finished tonight to mail this week); I got my eticket for my flight; I arranged my phone and my electricity in my apartment; and I got all my computer and music Cd's organized. Now I just need to say goodbye to a few of my friends this week, and then I'm ready to go. I'm a bit disappointed - I sent an email out to several of my Japanese friends and acquaintances telling them that I'm leaving in a week, but only one wrote back - my friend Akiko. She's too busy to meet me since she just started teaching 3rd year high school students, which in Japan means no free time! Oh well - i'll see her again since she's such a great friend, and since the others are too busy with their own lives to care, I won't worry. That's life - especially when you move as much as I do:)
I have three of my last classes tomorrow. Should be interesting saying goodbye to these students - though the students on Thursday are my favorites. Wednesday I'll see my two friends named Naomi - one just had her baby so I'll be able to meet her before I go! Then Friday I'll go to Saitama to visit my good friends the Yoshinos. I'll return Sunday and have just two days before I board the plane for my 11 1/2 hour flight back to Chicago.
well that's all for now. good night and I hope everyone has a great Monday! My Tuesday starts soon:)
