well my cousin sent me an email today asking if I was okay since I'd been so quiet - even on my journal. it is a bit unusual for me to go a whole week without posting. just haven't had much to write about i guess. After staying home last Tuesday, I was much more well rested mentally, but the rest of the week was just crazy. every night after work i was running errands and then coming home and preparing dinner and then doing dishes and other stuff. and I've been practicing my knitting stitch every day - it's almost time to learn another stitch and start working on an actual project. I feel so crafty, but I haven't got enough free time... *sigh* I did have lots of time on the weekend, but even with two free days, the time just flew. friday night we watched what I thought was a fun movie, "Lucky Number Slevin" with a stellar cast of Morgan Freeman, Bruce Willis, Ben Kingsley (with an amazing New York accent), Lucy Liu, and Josh Hartnett (who I think is quite good and very cute - especially in a towel - ^_^). I heard it had bad reviews (actually Ebert didn't like it even though he really liked "Sin City" - which I rented and had to turn off half way through last week - total garbage in my opinion). But Masahiko and I really enjoyed "Lucky Number Slevin", which was a fun little gangster movie, especially the end which had a little twist. The only complaint I had was the dialogue which was really forced and not natural. I thought maybe the writer was trying to be a bit too cute. and the beginning was a bit too fast and confusing, but then it all came together at the end and we were quite impressed. Love Morgan Freeman as a "bad guy" who's actually quite loveable. But I didn't get the consistent references to the Schmoo. wasn't that some cartoon?

Saturday was a very quiet day, but we went out Saturday night to see the band M used to play with at Kingston Mines. of course that meant a very late and tiring night, since we didn't get to the club until 10 p.m. and stayed until about 1:30! that's late for a homebody like me - hehe! Of course I'm very familiar with Lindsey's music (Lindsey Alexander is the guitarist Masahiko used to play for full time), so I contented myself with watching the crazy crowd. and Kingston Mines gets unbelievably crowded on a Saturday night - it's standing room only and hard to even find a space at all. Lindsey gave me his seat in the front, but then once the dancing started, I had to stand anyway! I didn't mind so much except that one couple, who started out just holding hands, ended up lip locked for the longest time I was worried they might actually pass out from lack of air. it was quite annoying since they were edging their way into my small space - and the guy was so "into" his girl that he didn't even notice me kicking him. I'm all for romance and love, but really if you're going to be all over each other like that, the dance floor of a crowded blues club is not the place! but I did enjoy watching the crowd otherwise - there's such a variety of ages, cultures, fashions, and some very unusual couples.

Sunday was another quiet day, except that it ended on a bad note when M found out about my credit card debt that I thought he already knew about. we had a very bad fight about it, since he hates credit cards. this debt is something that I've trying to take care of on my own without him worrying, though I wasn't keeping it from him - I told him about it awhile ago, though he has since forgotten I guess. so now he wants a ban on credit card use until it's all paid off! so much for buying any new winter clothes.

oh, and today we found out that we have to work the day after Thanksgiving. pointless really, but I have no vacation time. if I get any vacation time I have to go to Seattle to see my sister's baby - but I won't probably have any money for that either.

tomorrow I'm buying a lotto ticket!
