How to Avoid Extreme Frustration.
Lesson Number 1: Write stuff down (when you know you have a bad memory)
Case in point: When Photobucket prompts you to change your password, and you've used the same one for two years, write it down.
Lesson Number 2: Always Always update your personal information in your online sites, especially the email address associated with your account.
Case in point: When you open a second photobucket account, and you must therefore use another email address than your primary one, be sure it's an active one, and one that you can still get into!!!!
DOH!
I'm an extreme idiot. I opened up a second photobucket account two years ago to post pictures of actors for my LJ daily actor polls. I did it while I was in Japan, and have used the same password for two years. I don't even remember what email address I registered that account with! So, when they prompted me to change my password two days ago, for security reasons, I did. Only I didn't write it down. And I was absolutely sure I knew what it was. But after 12 attempts, I am not able to get in. and now they are asking me for my life history, plus my blood type (that's a joke by the way) to get my password! maybe I'll never get into it again! Thankfully it's just pictures of actors, but what a pain!
I need to start writing EVERYTHING down! getting old really sucks!
