I got back from my family reunion/vacation last night - and almost didn't make it (long story - United oversold the flight from Portland to Chicago, and for some reason decided that I would be the last person to get a seat assignment!!!).
but besides that little inconvenience (oh, by the way, we just might not get you on this flight, even though you paid a fortune for your seat!!), this was probably one of the BEST vacations I've had in years - it was so relaxing, so rejuvenating, and has reminded me of how important and how awesome my family is. I haven't been to a family reunion since 1999, so it was really overdue!
Now I'll have the big task of getting caught up on everyone's lives, so if there's anything really important I've missed, or that you want to share, please link me or just let me know. Until this morning, I hadn't even been on a computer since last Wednesday afternoon - I had 59 emails - wow! So it might take me a while to reply to everything:)
when I get some time (probably later in the week), I'm going to do a post with tons of pictures from the reunion, and from the sighseeing we did around the area in Oregon where we were staying. Of course most of the pics are of my nephew Cameron (now 21 months old), who was absolutely adorable and so fun, and I also of my cousins Kira and Christian who are 8 and 13 (last time I saw them was four years ago). The rest are of nature: we went to several waterfalls and also saw gorgeous views of the Columbia River and Gorge. Not to mention the peaceful beauty of the site where we were staying. You'll see...
In addition to realizing the importance of family, I also realized how much I MUST move back to the west coast! it's not a question of IF, but WHEN.
the west coast is my home!
anyway, I'm glad to be back but still wish I could have stayed about a week longer!!
until later....
