it's almost time to ditch the summer and fall icons for some winter ones - it's that freaking cold!!
it's been an interesting weekend, and once again it's over way too quickly. started out Friday night - the beginning of a very cold weekend - we got Korean bbq and tofu soup for take out. it was really yummy - if not a bit too expensive. Ate dinner while watching the movie The Forbidden Kingdom with Jackie Chan and Jet Li. AS far as I know this is the first movie that they've done together, and it was really enjoyable. I liked the fantasy storyline, and the quirky characters that both Jackie and Jet created - they are quite good together, and if you like martial arts, combined with the wit of Jackie Chan and an interesting fantasy plot then I recommend it!
Saturday we went to the mall and I bought a couple new items of clothing at my new favorite store, H&M. then we bought some awesome pastries from the Japanese pastry shop for lunch - we also picked up some korean kimchee for dinner. it was a weekend of Korean food, I guess:) did laundry in the afternoon, watched some tv shows (Pushing Daisies and True Blood) and after my husband fell asleep, I watched Ten Inch Hero finally. I know it was a bit cheesy in some parts, but I really enjoyed it and was surprised with how well it was acted and even written. Jensen of course was the main highlight, but I also love Clea Duvall and John Doe, and the appearance of Alice Krige was also a welcome surprise. I love her! anyone remember her in that ever-so-creepy movie Ghost Story about 20 years ago? she was beautiful and really creepy as a ghost! Interesting to finally see Danneel Harris (and in the buff too) - she reminds me of a younger Catherine Zeta-Jones - though prettier I think. not a bad actress, but a shallow role. and finally, Sean Patrick Flanery - yumm!!!!
today I did something interesting - I had a CT scan done of my head (brain). I don't think I really needed it, but the doctor recommended it after my faint of a couple weeks ago. it was really a quick procedure, they rolled my upper body into a big machine that reminded me of something you see in a sci fi movie - it had this spinning thing that scanned my head - the worst part was the IV they put into me with some kind of iodine complex that made me feel all weird and hot for a few seconds. such a creepy feeling. I guess my doctor will explain it all when I go back for a follow up. these days I feel much better - still tired and headachy sometimes, but overall fine, thankfully. I still think I might get some kind of procedure done to shrink or remove my fibroids - hopefully soon in case i lose my health insurance for some reason!
anyway that's about it. I haven't been feeling very motivated to read my litigation book - I'm about two chapters behind now but I am just procrastinating all day. tonight for example I made two loaves of pumpkin cranberry bread and watched Rush Hour 2 rather than reading. I guess I just lost interest - but no worries -I got an A on the midterm and I even took that after fainting!
well time to check the bread. hope everyone else had a great weekend. thanks for reading my rambling useless post.
