Two great performers have died.
Koko Taylor, the Queen of the Blues and a staple for the Chicago Blues scene has died at the age of 80. She was a dynamic singer, and a fantastic performer, and her name conjures up the images of the great old days of the blues legends, so many of whom have already passed on. She will be missed!! As a side note, we know one of her guitarists, a Japanese guy named Shun Kikuta. This must be a very sad day for him.
Here's a video from 1978 of Koko doing her thing:
And I just discovered that the fantastic David Carradine is dead. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,525069,00.html
He was found dead in his hotel room in Bangkok, apparently a suicide. It's so strange, and so devastating. I wonder what happened to bring him to this.
David brought so much to the entertainment world, and his roles in Kung Fu, Death Race 2000, and the Kill Bill series are just a handful of his memorable performances. He will be greatly greatly missed!
David in the final Kung Fu movie:
