laurainlimbo at 04:43pm on 06/12/2011I got my first two christmas cards yesterday!! thanks to serialbathera and sadistic_kitten for being the first to send me cards. Now I just need to find somewhere to put them in my small apartment.
if you happened to read the post I made on Sunday, please disregard my temporary moodiness.
I have since deleted that post. sometimes I should just stay away from the computer when I'm really low or in a bad mood.
my friend Nora finally called me around 4:30. we had planned to meet much earlier. Masahiko had decided already that he didn't want to go, and I'd left Nora a message saying he was sick - but that I still wanted to come to hang out with her. Turns out that they went to Aki's boss's house that morning around 11 a.m. just to drop off a present. Aki wanted to thank his boss for all the things he's done for him since he started the job. It's really Japanese tradition to bring "omiyage" to your boss or co-workers or neighbors when you are new, though Masahiko's never done this as long as he's in this country. Anyway, they got invited to stay for lunch, which turned into staying the whole afternoon to play with their two daughters. Aki was trying to be polite to his boss, but they never even called us to let us know they were running late. When Nora finally called, she said she didn't want to call and say they were still there - so she just didn't call. She was really sweet and apologetic, so I said no problem, we'd make the plans for another time. it was already nearly 5 and dark and I was not in a good mood. we'll get together on Friday night when Masahiko has a gig - I'll hang out with Nora and watch the new Twilight movie - and make fun of it!
Anyway - I'm at work and I'm supposed to be "working" - so I"d better post this and write more updates later.
by the way, it's cold here. I don't like cold. *sigh*
