I'm wondering if I should give up my community, thedailyactor. I love it, and I've been doing it for a long time. But lately people don't participate. I know we have more than six members, however, for some reason only six people voted yesterday, and maybe 11 the day before. I was going to post something on there about it, but I think the members are tired of hearing me complain. But then again, no one's reading!

and also, it seems like lots of my LJ friends have disappeared too. About 10 or more of my friends have not posted for more than 2 weeks... Where is everyone? Is it because the weather's getting warmer, or because people are taking final exams? Or is everyone disappearing from LJ due to sites like facebook and twitter? I fear that no one wants to take time for communities on Live Journal anymore - except perhaps for communities related to Star Trek or Twilight...

should I continue posting actor polls even with only 6-12 participants? Is it worth my time and effort? Or should I just quit?

I think I'm getting sick... so I'm going to bed. I don't know why I should be getting sick, though - because all I ever do is work and read and sleep. I have no life to speak of.

Well I do really love posting the actors - I'm kind of devoted to the community, which is why I get sad when only six people vote. that's the lowest I've ever seen. but then today there were tons of voters, so it's a mystery.
and I do totally appreciate your help:) I might need your help at the end of June/early July if I take a trip. I'll let you know!

I think you're right about FB and Twitter - although one of my LJ friends recently said she had only been on twitter lately. so who knows..

I hope I'm not getting sick too - I felt better today (except for my nasty menstrual cramps). I'm just tired I think from stress over my parents and stuff.

Maybe it does depend on the popularity of the actors? I was surprised that Jimmy Stewart hadn't been done before...

I'd be happy to help if you're away - we'd have to confer on who to do though. Not sure if I could make decisions for a whole week or two!

are you looking at tags or memories? everything that's been posted should be in the memories, and I also add all the new posts to the memories too.
tags are limited because LJ only allows 1000 for a community. I've done way more than 1000 posts.

oh, and I won't be away for more than about five days. I can't afford to take more than a couple days off from work, so I'll be doing a long weekend. we will talk more then:) thanks!!

I think I did post Janet Leigh a couple years ago - that's why I opted to do that other poll, of all the Hitchcock leading ladies.

I thought your idea of the MTV movie awards was worth a look, but when I looked at the list of winners, I realized that more than half the awards went to Twilight. I'm all for diversity in thedailyactor, but it just seemed silly. so as you could see in my post, I decided to just do a regular week, no theme:) so you can choose whoever you want to post this week.

oh and the other thing I forgot to tell you is that I use a different poll for deceased actors. I can email that to you, in case you do any more dead people - LOL! it's just a bit different, and I post the dates that they lived.
