more johnny goodness

Boy, Tim Burton sure is ambitious. First I hear of his plans to do the Dark Shadows movie with Johnny Depp. And now I see that he's also doing a weird movie version of Alice in Wonderland , also with Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, and with his lovely wife Helena Bonham Carter (who I absolutely love, but who can look absolutely freakish sometimes) as the Red Queen. This might not be news for some of you, but I just found out about it this weekend.

also, when we went to see Terminator the other day, we saw the trailer for the animated movie called 9 - I thought it was a Tim Burton movie but when I look at the imdb, he's listed as the producer only. it looks like a very bizarre and dark movie. but wasn't this a short film first? or is it still? I'm confused...

in other news, it looks like it will be a hot day - and a hot week. And my boss is sending me to some off site storage unit to get a file. he calls it an "adventure" - I call it a pain in the butt!

did you even like JOhnny as Willy Wonka? I thought his portrayal was frightening, and I couldn't even watch him. it was just too weird. I loved the original Willy Wonka film with Gene Wilder. he was perfect:) Johnny might do better with the Mad Hatter, but the look seems to be computer graphically altered, as is Helena's Red Queen.

Yep, I certainly did! And also I far prefer Johnny's Wonka to Gene Wilder's, the whole film was much truer to the book (except for the flashback stuff, of course).

Yeah, looks like there will be CG-enhancement, they've made Helena's head pretty big! :D

I love Johnny but I just couldn't handle his Willy Wonka. I wonder if it's a generation thing - but I just much prefer the older version of Willy Wonka - even though it might not be as true to the book, for me the characters were better. but I grew up watching it so maybe that makes a difference.
