greetings from Fuji
Just a quick post to let you all know I arrived in Japan safely, and that I got my cat, Leo, through quarantine without any problems at all. In fact, the whole move was almost trouble-free - the only issues I had were with my hotel in Seattle, and with our drive back from Narita airport last night. I'll give a more detailed account on everything later, after I've gotten some more rest and when I'm feeling a bit more energy. As usual when coming from the U.S. to Japan, I've lost a couple days with the 15 hour time change and all the time spent traveling. It's already Thursday night here, and I left Seattle on Tuesday morning! My total time spent getting from Seattle to Fuji (where I'm living in Japan), from the time I left my hotel Tuesday morning to the time we got to our house last night, was 18 hours. And only half of that time was spent on the plane - my flight arrived at about 3:40 p.m. in Japan and we didn't get home until nearly 11 p.m. That was due to some navigational issues coming through Tokyo which I'll explain later. Needless to say, Leo and I are exhausted, and Masahiko is equally tired after having spent over six hours driving to and from the airport. We are taking it easy for the next couple days, and then have lots of things to do.
Anyway, I've got to go and get some more rest, and hopefully figure out how to get a secured wireless connection!
Oh and thanks to everyone for your addresses - I plan to get my postcards out sometime next week. I hope everyone is staying warm and healthy!
I'll be back tomorrow:)
