If I can find anything written from a Japanese perspective I'll send it to you - but those would likely be in Japanese(which I can't read). Most of the articles in English language papers here (even the Japan Times and Asahi Shimbun) are written by foreigners living in Japan. but I am going to use it as the topic in my advanced free conversation class today and see what a couple of younger Japanese think - one is a 30-something guy who works for Yamaha, and the other is a female college student, probably about 26.
