haha that's funny that you say I'm good at being Japanese - because I feel like when I teach, I'm so different from the other teachers. and I don't feel Japanese at all. but I guess I see what you mean. adaptation and flexibility is the key - and I'm good at that. and as far as being culturally competent, I do have three years of experience here in Japan, and 9 years with a Japanese person. so I have lots of experience - LOL!
