I don't go for the hype of Valentine's day either...but that's probably because I haven't had a Valentine in...years & years. Of course I have people who love me and I'm really glad for that! but. I don't know. I'm treating myself to 'lovingkindness' today.

I think that's great your mom has a date! Good for them!
