I better post these before I get so busy I forget. I've been a bit down in the dumps this weekend, so that's why I am so late...

anyway, most of these pics are of my adorable nephew Cameron - I wish I had more time with him, he's growing so fast, and changing. It was great having a couple days with him though, and also I got to see my mom, dad, brother, aunt, uncle, and even my cousin Lynn who I hardly ever see. that was a big bonus!

Trip details and pictures are :

I left my house very early on thursday morning (the 17th), arrived in Seattle around 10:30 a.m. and had to wait a few hours before I could catch a van out to Boeing field to take my connecting flight to Port Angeles. because I had so long, I went to Anthony's fish restaurant and ate a yummy salmon burger and drank an Alaskan amber, and wandered around the shops, and read my book. A few of you know, PA is about three hours by car from Seattle, or a 30-minute flight by one of these little 9-seater planes offered by only one airline, Kenmore:

so I took my flight, which was mostly cloudy and a little scary, landed around 4 p.m., and mom and I went shopping and then fixed dinner and drank wine. my brother came over for dinner too. I went to bed early that night because I was so tired.

Friday was a day spent with family - I had breakfast with mom, dad and my aunt and uncle. then the rest of the day was just relaxing and being with mom and dad.

Saturday morning we left early and drove to meet my cousin Lynn in Sequim for breakfast. It was so great to see her - here's a pic of me with mom, my Aunt Marilyn and Lynn:

After having a wonderful lunch with them, mom and I drove to the ferry in Bainbridge, only to get stuck in a horrendous delay before the Hood Canal Bridge - apparently they raised the bridge, and it got stuck. we sat in the car and talked, and waited - then finally got to the ferry. it was raining and cool, so much better though than the negative temps in Chicago. we finally got to Seattle, and to my sister's house in the afternoon. here's a pic of my sister and me:

The rest of Saturday and Sunday were spent mostly playing with this little guy. I have picked out my favorites, so enjoy:

My favorites are of me reading to Cameron, and also of him in the tub. He's got this little habit of lining his ducks outside the tub - of course I helped him by throwing them all back into the tub again!

I've got tons more pictures, but I thought this was enough for now - LOL!

well that's all for now. I actually went to work today for almost four hours, and seemed to get a lot done - but somehow my list of tasks is still just as long... *sigh*
I am taking a break from job hunting because I'm just fed up. I am tired of being told that there's nothing - basically it's because I'm underexperienced, overeducated and I've moved around too much. I think I'm ready to give it all up and go back to teaching. but more on that later...

have a great week and be good!!

Cute pics! Sorry to hear the job hunt isn't going well. It's a bad time to be looking, but you still should keep your eyes open. I'm sure something will come along.

I actually haven't done much with the job hunt lately - and now I'm really sick. I've already missed two days of work - I think it's a sinus infection (I'm going to see a doctor today). so job searching is not a priority right now...
how are you? hope you are doing well!!

These were awesome! I am so glad you had the chance to see your family again! It goes by so fast though you know? But this was sweet-and thanks for sharing these pictures with us!
On the job-don't give up! But taking a break might be wise-for now. Give yourself a little bit of a break-you're steadily working towards your new degree. It takes time-and so does finding a new job ;-) Just BREATHE!
*Hugs you*

thanks so much! seeing the family was really great, a real boost that I needed! and I haven't entirely given up on the job hunt - I'm just tired, and it's discouraging. But eventually something will happen!

*hugs back*

These pictures are adorable. Cameron is such a cutie-pie.

Those little planes can be scary, can't they.

Great pictures. I'm glad you had such a good time with your family.

thanks - I did have a great time with my family. I just wish I could have stayed much longer!

and yes, those planes are a bit scary. just that you fly so low and they seem so unstable. but the pilots always do a great job!
