I wonder why my birthday wasn't showing up on my user info page - I checked today, both logged in and also not logged in and it was there. but in case you can't see it, it's May 29th. thanks for asking:)
things with me are better now that my cold is gone - I was miserably sick for awhile. but otherwise, it's just winter here and very cold, and I'm busy with work - though thankfully on a break from school. last class starts in two weeks.
I've noticed you haven't been on LJ - it's a busy time for many, I guess:) but we catch up from time to time so that's good!

I can see your b'day now, on the profile. The recent LJ changes on userpages foxed me, but it's there.
Yeah, last year Dan (dandywalker) my other half, got Zabriskie to send me a b'day email. This year he tried to but one of her art boxes (she's an artist too) - she quoted him $500 so it didn't happen. That was a bit steep. Although her work is awesome. One day... Blue Velvet is the best. I have the OST on my iPod and the main theme music makes perfect travelling to work on the train accompaniment!
Hope stuff with work/school is ok for you. Textbooks are so costly. I rarely buy stuff now, but we can buy them in for the students and the college pays. So that's one way of getting them, heh.
Also, I hope I didn't sound all lofty and know-all when I replied to kimbari on dailyactor (Kate Winslet) - my intention was purely to answer her question, but I read it back and it could've been read as me being awkward or whatnot. Hope Kimbari doesn't think I was being a dick - she's a really nice lady from what I've seen, very sincere and nice. Winslet's just not me cuppa tea, I guess.
Oh, and, for a laugh, you should check out the Out of Africa post on dailymovie - some random person took it upon themselves to verbally attack it/us. It's hilarious - it made my evening. I replied to him/her in kind, heh.
Ta again for the b'day message - I was genuinely touched. I think you did tell me once that you were a teacher, because I was also a teacher a few years ago. I miss it sometimes, but 36 students is quite a bit! good luck with that! sorry to hear about your other half being sick - I was sick with a brutal cold for two weeks at christmas, and now my husband's got it. it's hard when one person is sick and the other is worrying. winter here has been horrid - subzero temps day after day and snow!! but I'm leaving Chicago soon for warmer climes so that's good!!
also sorry to hear about your grandmother and your father. my father has parkinson's, so I worry about him. and my uncle was in the hospital with bladder and colon failure due to prostate cancer. it was touch and go for a while. but good things are also happening, as my sister is pregnant and due again in Feb. so i'll have a niece when I return to washington in June.
thanks for the email address. I was a bit panicky about two weeks ago about the LJ rumors, and backed up my journal. but it's good to have contacts.
