there's a lot of awesomeness out there. you can always start rewatching the classics. that's what i'm doing. also there's a lot of great movies that have been made in the last couple of years. plus there's some great tv on dvd. have you seen the fall? you should put that on your queue. john adams is brilliant. it just kind of depends on what you're in the mood for. i love penelope as well. it's quirky and totally adorable. i feel your pain on the journey to the center of the earth, haven't seen that one, but believe when i say: i've seen some pretty terrible movies. don't give up yet though. there's still some great ones out there...

I know, I really need to start watching the classics. I just don't know where to begin. I love old movies, so it should be fun:) Yes, I did see the Fall, and I have it on DVD too. I love it!! I want to see more movies like that:) I know I shouldn't give up - I love movies, and just need to see better ones to reaffirm my belief in the joy of cinema again:)
thanks for the comment, and the inspiration!
any suggestions of things you've seen lately?

i've been watching a lot of TV on DVD. i like How I Met Your Mother and Mad Men. Just watched an old one with Cary Grant called My Favorite Wife that was extremely cute. I love Sabrina(both the old one with Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart, and the new one with Julia Ormond and Harrison Ford) Chinatown is a great movie. So is Penelope(it's very much like Pushing Daisies), Cold Comfort Farm is hilarious. Pleasantville is one of my favorites. These are all pretty old except Penelope. However, these might get you started :D by the way, i love your icon

I love watching whole series of shows on DVD - it's so fun! I did that with Six Feet Under, Dexter, and the first season of Lost. though I gave up on the second season. I just added the movie Penelope to my queue - I'd read about that one awhile back in a magazine. I love christina Ricci. Chinatown is great! I'll have to re-rent Cold Comfort Farm. I tried watching it a few years back and had trouble with the accents, but I know it's supposed to be a great film.

thanks - I can't remember where I found that icon but I got that one, and this one too from the same person. it's so sweet. That movie is so amazing!!

Yeah the Fall is one of the best movies i've seen in awhile. So imaginative, sweet, and beautiful. I have yet to see Dexter, but i've heard nothing but good things about that show! I've just started watching Chuck, but Dexter is on my list as well. There are so many TV shows that I want to see...It's just a matter of getting around to it. Yeah Cold Comfort Farm can be hard to get into because of the accents, but it's a seriously funny movie. You could always try subtitles? That always helps me. Glad you added Penelope. I think you'll really enjoy it :D

I'll let you know after I've watched Penelope - it's first on my queue.
I'll add Cold Comfort Farm too - subtitles are really helpful:)

yeah definetly let me know how you like Penelope :D it's one of my favorites, plus it has a similar visual style to Pushing Daisies, so that makes it even better
