I have some very good news: My sister gave birth to a baby girl yesterday morning in Seattle.
My new niece, Shannon Dayle Dixon, weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces, and measured 19 inches long. Baby and mother are both perfectly healthy, and will be released from the hospital tomorrow morning. My mom and dad are staying with my sister and her family for the rest of the weekend.
I had meant to post about my niece yesterday, but my boss worked me like a slave, and then I had class until 9:00 so I was just dead by the time I got home!
So better late than never, please join me in welcoming little Shannon Dayle into the world! Pictures will be posted when (or more like IF) I get some from my relatives!!
thank goodness it's the weekend again!!
I've got so many movies to watch - one netflix dvd at home, which I believe is the James Dean biopic with my honey James Franco; three movies that I've downloaded, including The Reader which I'm gonna have to watch before Sunday night's Oscars; and I've just realized that I can watch The Visitor on instant play through Netflix. that one's got an oscar-nominated lead actor, Richard Jenkins - and I've heard the movie is quite good.
Problem is, I'm so damn tired that I can't even see straight. so I guess I'll toddle off to bed early, sleep a bit, and get up early and watch a movie or two...
then tomorrow night we're going to a church fundraiser at which my husband is playing with his band. free food and good live music - not bad!!
more later, when I'm not falling asleep on my keyboard...zzzzzzzzzzz

Have fun watching movies! I think that's what I'll be doing. And I hope your fundraiser goes well--it sounds like it'll fun!

we had fun at the fundraiser - there was free food and drinks so no complaints!
