I'm glad Sean Penn won his Oscar, it shows that Hollywood isn't the closeted conservative place it sometimes appears to be. Seems that was the only surprise though, everything else went as expected! Good night for the Brits as well, Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Director!

well perhaps Hollywood is getting better, because they know they must change to keep up with the times. it was definitely not a night of surprises, but I was pretty happy with everything!
