I'm sure lots of people went out to parties or clubs tonight, but here I just stayed home. We had a slow night, but it was lots of fun. This afternoon we carved out the tops of some small pumpkins and put candles in them so we could light up the front window for trick-or-treaters, and I carved a small pumpkin to put out front too. Also we baked the pumpkin seeds, and baked some brownies, so there were goodies for us to eat. We didn't get too many trick-or-treaters, and hardly any small children (so we have wayy to much candy left over!) I think there must have been parties and alternatives for the younger kids this year. This was my first time to hand out candy on Halloween for many years, since I was either in apartments or in Japan. And who knows where I'll be next year for Halloween...

Anyway, here's a couple pics of my Halloween decorations:

And here's my cat Leo and my mom's cat Buddy looking out the window at dinnertime. I love their matching postures, and also check out Buddy's eyes reflecting in the window. They're glowing! Green! (oh I should have moved that magazine out of the way - very interesting article in that Newsweek!)

Hope everyone had a fun and safe night:)

thanks - yea i think that the cats were sensing some kind of presence outside last night. and that was just a perfect photo opportunity - the eyes were a bonus!

So IS your baby a racist?

well since I don't have a baby I can't answer. But this headline really made me mad when I saw it because it's so obvious that they're trying to get people to buy the magazine. a headline like that, despite what the actual article states, is just going to make people angry, and start a ridiculous debate about whether or not babies and small children already start to discriminate about race. I am pretty sure that racism is taught.

Racism is taught, BY BABIES.

The cats are watching out for trick-or-treaters. Maybe they'll rob them for candy? ;)

Hee, the magazine headline, it's the most ridiculous thing I've seen in a long while. *G*

I know the cats were watching out for something - they're perhaps putting a protective spell on the house - LOL!
that's why Buddy's eyes were glowing:)

yea that magazine headline made me really angry. as IF a baby could be racist. I think that kind of hatred and ignorance is reserved for adults.

wolfpurplemoon: A cute cartoon character with orange hair, glasses, kitty ears and holding a coffee, the colours are bright and pinkish/purple (trick or treat)

Great pumpkin, love the shot of the cats as well!

No trick or treating here, it's not a concept that's caught on much, and we ignore any kids that come a knocking, much as we ignore the carollers at Xmas!

Me and my friends were down the pub where all the staff were dressed up, which was fun!

aw, I used to do carolling when I was a kid, but I don't think anyone does it anymore. we only had a few trick-or-treaters last night, that's also sadly something that is not done as much. not considered safe I guess.

a pub sounds like fun:)

Gorgeous photos hon! ♥

It was busy here, lots of trick or treaters this year, gave out 3 bowls of candy!

thanks!

wow three bowls of candy? we barely made it through one tray! I don't know where all the kids were. I'm so glad you had a fun night though:)

*hugs*

Lots of kids in our neighborhood, so we get a lot of traffic. I love seeing the costumes. :)

it's good you have lots of kids in your neighborhood since you have kids too. my mom and dad's neighborhood has a lot of older folks - we saw lots of dark houses on Halloween. there is a family next door with a little girl, but she was with her father for the weekend. and another family with small kids across the street, but the mom is not very nice. it's too bad.

we did see some adorable kids though and some great costumes!

I'm so glad you had such a fun Halloween! I love your pumpkins, and the matching kitties pic is just adorable. ♥ I take it the kitties get along pretty well?

aw thanks - I had so much fun decorating that little pumpkin, probably because I hadn't done it in years.

I love the kitties sitting together like that. it took some time for them to get used to each other, and they are still territorial, but they have fun. I think they will both be really sad when I leave and take Leo with me.

did you have a fun Halloween?

Holy crap! The reflection of Buddy is freaking me out!

well I think it was just the reflection from the window, but it was pretty uncanny how it turned out on film, and on Halloween!
