it's not life that matters but the journey...

well yes, things are going pretty smoothly in that I'm over jet lag, and my husband welcomed me nicely. I got through the long flight easily, and my cat got through quarantine with no problems. and I'm already pretty well adapted to being in Japan since I've been here so many times before. I'm slowly getting my energy back, though what I need is some more motivation. I think it's hard coming here in winter because it's so cold, and it is a holiday season for most people. Japanese don't celebrate Christmas the way we westerners do, but they do celebrate the New Year's holiday, and some people have vacations and take some time off. so it's hard for us to get started with jobs perhaps because of the time of year.

the thing I'm most worried about at this point is that my husband is having trouble finding a job. he says there are no jobs listed that he can apply to. I think it may improve after the new year, but he's worried. so I am hoping that he won't completely get frustrated and give up. I've only been here a week, so I'm still hopeful... but we are now trying to get my English conversation school started, and that will take some time too. so far we haven't had anyone call about the sign we put up outside, so we need to get some ads in the newspaper, and distribute some posters, and maybe get a website going. it's going to be a long process. so wish us luck:)
