There's an English pub chain here called the Hub... they are actually a fairly reasonable facsimile of a real English pub, and they have fish'n'chips and such, and big TVs that show sporting events. But since they are still distinctly Japanese I like to call them the Engrish Pub chain.
There are great things about being in Tokyo, to be sure. I always have thoughts like "Would it be better to be in the inaka?" but I'm pretty sure that no, it wouldn't. Not without reasonable support, at least.
