as I mentioned, we had a very freakish little hail storm last Sunday, which turned to snow! it was sunny and cool all morning, and then in the afternoon, the clouds rolled in and the hail started! it was small hail, and lasted only about 10 minutes. And then later in the evening, it snowed - but hardly any accumulated, thankfully!

Here's some pics of the hail as it was falling. My camera is pretty old and cheap, but you get the main idea (these are all clickable thumbnails):

The aftermath - it looks like it snowed (which it did after the hail stopped)

today was a nothing day, just like yesterday. I was going to volunteer at the pro bono office, but Nancy, the supervisor, wasn't in, and there wasn't anything to do. I hate waiting to hear about jobs! meanwhile I'm just bored and eating too much junk food. tomorrow we're going to hear a lecture at the college on Free Market Capitalism (and how it's killing us!), and then go to Harry's for hot tub and dinner!

oh and I was sad to realize that White Collar's season finale was last night - it was gooood! but thankfully we only have to wait until June for a new season! Glee is on hiatus until April - boo! after leaving us with a cliffhanger. And I seemed to have missed Supernatural last Friday - was there one? I don't even know!

well time to do something productive. maybe yoga. or study piano. get off my lazy butt anyway!

that looks pretty, but I am sure not fun to be in

hail isn't fun to be in, no. this was small hail, but when I lived in Colorado as a kid, I got caught in a massive hailstorm. it's crazy!!

I really like the second-to-last one.

thanks - my camera is old and cheap, but sometimes it takes interesting pictures. I like that one too!

Oh, wow, that's not good how much it hailed.

it was a very short storm, thankfully. we got much worse in Colorado when I lived there.

Crazy weather! We seem to have missed winter and gone straight to spring here, though that's not too good because now we're suffering from a drought down in the south of England (they've plenty of water up North though!)

oh sorry to hear you have a drought. we've had quite a bit of rain, but I'm thankful when we see the sun! it's trying to come out today. I just am so so ready for spring!

We actually have a bit of rain today - the drought doesn't seem to have made much difference to us, though there's probably a hosepipe and sprinkler ban on!

That was quite a hailstorm!

We had a hailstorm like that fairly recently - it's quite amazing when the hailstones lie on the ground like that!!

I must be one of the only people on this planet that doesn't like Glee (though to be fair, I refuse to watch it!) :)

this was a weird storm - we could stand in it and not really hurt when the hail hit, because it was kind of small. it was kind of pretty all on the ground though - then it turned to snow!

you're probably not the only person who doesn't watch Glee:) and I refused to watch it too in the beginning, until a bunch of my friends convinced me it was worth a try. so I got the first episode, and I got hooked right away. for me it's a guilty pleasure, like watching Dirty Dancing or something. it's just pure fun, and I do like some of the songs they do. the singing talent on there is quite amazing though.

what shows do you like?

I tend to like things like The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Two and a Half Men (with Charlie Sheen, as the new series with Ashton Kutcher tends to centre round him running round half naked, which does not a funny show make!) - and the crime shows - NCIS, Cold Case, Without a Trace, Law and Order - probably quicker to ask what I don't like!! :)

oh I love the Big Bang Theory! Sheldon is one of the best characters on modern television! I'm not a big sitcom fan, but BBT is quirky enough that I really enjoy it! I haven't watched Modern Family or Two and a Half Men - but then again I am not a big fan of Charlie Sheen. the only law and order shows I like are not really the typical crime shows - I love Justified on F/X and I also love Dexter on Showtime.

You study piano? Cool! I took a LOT of piano lessons growing up and still occasionally play. :)

Yikes! Although we get freak weather here in Colorado too. :)

well I've been trying to get myself to re-learn piano. I haven't played since I was a teenager, and I have free time now (since I don't have a job) and my mom has a piano, so it seems a good idea. but it's so hard to re-learn - but still it's fun! I want to be able to play a few easy songs, like Beatles or Carole King, or just some chords along with my husband's guitar.

oh yes i remember all about freaky Colorado weather. I grew up in Lakewood, and was there for 10 years of my youth. the snow, the thunderstorms, the floods... it was wild! but it is a beautiful state, and I miss it. WAshington has mountains, so I don't feel so far from nature, though:)

You grew up in Lakewood??? So did I!! Where did you go to high school? I went to Wheat Ridge, class of '86. You?

Washington sounds amazing with the mountains and the coast accessible in one state. I'd like to visit there someday. :)

yes I was in Lakewood from the time I was 7 until I was about 16. we moved there when I was in first grade. I went to Lakewood High School, but I didn't graduate from there because my parents moved us to Sacramento, CA when I was a junior in high school. I didn't want to move! I was at Lakewood for a year though. and I went to Creighton Jr. High. I remember Wheat Ridge though:) wow, what a cool coincidence! we do have lots in common don't we? I miss Colorado - I haven't been there for about 20 years. I do hope to go back someday. but yea, you should visit Washington - it's a beautiful state.

oh and I was class of '86 too!! I would have graduated from Lakewood if we hadn't moved. I was always jealous of my sister because her graduation in '83 was at Red Rocks. I loved Red Rocks - saw so many concerts there when I was growing up! wow - you and I were the same age at the same time in the same place, almost. and we meet online! what a small world indeed:)

Yeah, REALLY small world!! Our graduation was at a football field; nothing too special. Graduation at Red Rocks sounds really fabulous!! I'm sad your family moved when you were ALMOST done with high school; that's a really rough time to be moved away from all your friends. You seem to have come through it OK, though. :) *hugs*
