well, it refers to the fact that I, Laura, am constantly in a state of limbo, or indecision, regarding my future, and I'm constantly moving around and trying to find my place in the world

it was made by my friendiilii as my very first icon, and I've kept it as my default cause its cute - and its Hello Kitty!

blue levi's 501s, a striped turtleneck covered by a tan, long-sleeved t-shirt with lace and a bow, blue and white checked undies, a pink bra, yellow socks and pink slippers (wow what a freak!!)
6. What is your current problem?
getting an apartment in Chicago and moving out of Japan!
7. What do you love most?
my family, my cat, my friends, movies, chocolate, good food, clean air, nature, my mind
8. What makes you most happy?
all of the above (#7), as well as writing, reading, relaxing with family or friends, hearing rain on the roof, knowing that my friends and family are happy and safe
9. Are you musically inclined?
yes, but I quit playing an instrument years ago. I played clarinet and piano until I was in high school, and I used to sing in the choir as a child too
10. If you could go back in time, and change something, what would you change?
I can't say that here - its personal!
11. If you MUST be an animal for ONE day, what would you be?
a cat, of course!!
12. Ever have a near death experience?
only when I wasn't born yet: when my mother went to visit the doctor for a check-up a week before I was due, the old doctor stuck his finger into the placenta, blood sprayed everywhere, and my life (as well as my mother's) was put at risk. we were rushed to the hospital in an ambulance and I was born caesarian. that is why my life is so unusual!

how can I know what is obvious to others? well, maybe its obvious that I'm considerate of others? or does this mean physical qualities? if so, then its obvious that I'm tall

nothing is stuck in my head right now, thankfully!

of course not!

lots of verbal fights, but no physical fights. I'd lose! But when I was a child, I got stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time, and got punched by a very bad boy. His name was Lonnie.

eyes, smile, hair, and intelligence

if I had one near here, I would order an iced latte - or perhaps a hot chai latte

yes, when I met the lead singer for the Psychedelic Furs at an in-store appearance (I was a teenager), he said I looked like Martha Quinn from MTV. Honestly! Also, I've been compared to Marie Osmond. Hee!
25. Do you still watch kiddy movies or TV shows?
I love Miyazaki movies, and of course most Disney movies too! I loved Shrek, but that was really more for adults wasn't it? Kids tv shows: Japanese ones are good for learning Japanese but otherwise, I don't watch kids shows

oh, yes I did. for a long time. hated it. but I'm thankful to my mother since I had terrible teeth!
27. Are you comfortable with your height?
yes, in the U.S. - no here in Japan. I'm much taller than most people, even men, here!

my husband wrote songs for me

Mochiron. Watashi wa sukoshi Nihonogo wo hanashimasu.
(that means: of course. I speak a little Japanese)
I used to speak Spanish, but I forgot most of it. but I remember what I learned in junior high school: "Donde esta Iman?" "Aqui viene Iman" (Iman es un perro) - "Vamanos"

and yes, my parents could have sued that doctor, but people didn't sue so much then. he was old, and not my mother's regular doctor, so it was a big fiasco.
they should also have sued that kid for punching me! LOL

I've had crushes since I was old enough to understand the concept... now I'm trying to remember my first crush. probably some cute boy in grade school, or maybe one of my cousin's friends or my sister's boyfriends...
that's a good question for a meme!!
and that doctor would so be sued if that had happened in today's "sue-me" society!
