50 or so celebrity crushes - hotties that I would so like to...

MEET - of course... what did you think?

okay, here it is... FINALLY... the much anticipated and awaited list of my celebrity crushes -all men, all gorgeous, and all with pictures!!

I was inspired awhile back by [profile] galactic_jack, who posted 100 crushes... but I couldn't come up with 100 at this time... (though I'm sure I'll think of more once this is posted).
p.s. - these are not in any order, cause I love them all!
and this is not for the slow internet connection - lots of big pictures - the bigger the better!

1) Jensen Ackles - One of the top ten most gorgeous men alive, I fell in love with him first by watching Supernatural , and after four seasons, he's getting better and better.

2) Jake Gyllenhaal - Jake seems to have disappeared from the scene lately, and I miss him. He's the smart, strong, silent type, very confident, very sexy and also very funny.

3) Johnny Depp - One of my first celebrity crushes, all the way back to the time I saw him for the first time in Nightmare on Elm Street . Johnny is like fine wine, and just gets better and better with age.

4) James Franco I'm not sure when I first noticed James - I think it was after I watched him in Pineapple Express and realized how funny he is. Then I realized how gorgeous he is - and he did an amazing James Dean!

5) Harrison Ford Unless you count crushes like Sean Cassidy and C. Thomas Howell when I was 10, Harrison Ford was my first real Man crush. After watching Raiders of the Lost Ark , I was lost. I joined his fan club, and have been in love ever since.

6) Keanu Reeves I had a crush on Keanu back when he was just "cute" in River's Edge and Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure . but then he became unbelievably sexy in Speed and Point Break . He still looks damn good!

7) Ryan Gosling - Yes, I fell in love with Ryan first in The Notebook , and watched all his movies after that. He's just yummy!

8) Jared Padalecki - Jared is the other half of the Winchester team on Supernatural , and though I'm a Jensen/Dean girl at heart, Jared has become so sexy in the last couple years, that he can't be ignored.

9) Kyle MacLachlan - All I have to say is Agent Cooper! When I was in college, Kyle was my biggest crush, and Twin Peaks was it! And seeing Kyle naked in Blue Velvet didn't hurt either!

10) Hugh Jackman - Do I need to explain this one? the world's sexiest man? Well, he's definitely made my list - hot, smart, funny, talented, and charming.

11) James MacAvoy - I noticed him before seeing Penelope , but after seeing that movie, I was hooked. Gorgeous!

12) Ralph Fiennes - Super brooding, sexy, and a brilliant actor. I loved him most in The English Patient - hot sex scenes in that movie!

13) Joseph Fiennes Ralph's brother, Joseph, is not as well known, but he's equally as gorgeous and talented. I loved him as Shakespeare, but recently he showed a comic side in The Darwin Awards and did a really erotic film with Heather Graham.

14) Cillian Murphy - I discovered Cillian after watching him in Batman Begins and Red Eye , playing evil characters in both. I went on to watch every other movie he's been in, and he's brilliant, and has the most gorgeous eyes on the planet!

15) Jonathan Rhys Meyers - after watching him with Scarlett Johanssen in Match Point , I realized that this man has something special. Watching The Velvet Goldmine is a treat with Jonathan, Christian Bale and Ewan McGregor. Good stuff!

16) Ewan McGregor - Just such a sexy and talented guy - good in every movie he's in, and gorgeous in a kilt!

17) Takeshi Kaneshiro - he's half Chinese, half Japanese, speaks 5 language, resembles a younger version of my husband - Takeshi is gorgeous. Watch him in House of Flying Daggers and you'll see!

18) Aaron Eckhart - nice face, nice actor - I love him!

19) Michael C. Hall - One word: DEXTER! Hottest serial killer ever.

20) John Cusack - John was one of my earliest crushes too - in the '80s, Say Anything was the most romantic movie. I wanted a boyfriend like Lloyd Dobler. I still do!

21) Pete Yorn - gotta have some non-actors on here. Pete Yorn writes great songs, and is darn cute!

22) David Gilmour - One of the best guitarists that ever lived, and so passionate and kind and beautiful. Here he is with the band, long long ago...

23) Lee Pace - I thought I loved Lee Pace enough as Ned on Pushing Daisies , but then I saw The Fall . He's incredible - I love him and want to see more of him.

24) Michael Rosenbaum - I caught Michael the other night in the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and was so surprised to see him with hair. He makes the most gorgeous bald man ever as Lex Luthor on Smallville . I stopped caring when he was no longer on the show. I love you Lex!

25) James Spader - He's super nerdy cute in Stargate , but in White Castle and Sex, Lies and Videotape , he really got me!

26) Gregory Peck - not all my crushes are still alive. and not all are based purely on lust. Gregory Peck was gorgeous, suave, a true gentleman, and the best father figure ever in To Kill a Mockingbird.

27) Stephen Moyer - I'd never seen Stephen before True Blood , and as Vampire Bill on that show, he caught my attention. yummy!

28) Michael Pitt - admittedly a strange fascination, I fell for Michael while watching his purely evil character in Funny Games . But he's so darned charming. Can't wait to see his other films.

29) Matthew St. Patrick - I only saw him on Six Feet Under as the exceedingly gorgeous cop, and Michael C. Hall's lover - he's breathtaking.

30) Dong-Kun Jang - you're saying to yourself - Dong who? Just watch the Chinese film The Promise , and you'll see what I mean. He's quite beautiful.

31) Sendhil Ramamurthy - a name I can't really pronounce, and the only reason I watched Heroes . I hope he does other stuff - he's fantastic.

32) Aidan Quinn - Love him - wish he'd do more movies!

33) William Hurt - another of my early crushes, especially after watching Children of a Lesser God - but it was Body Heat with Kathleen Turner that showed him to be sexy, not just serious.

34) Tobey Maguire - There's definitely a side of me that loves the geek in Tobey, but I love love him as Spider-Man. He's strong, and sensitive.

35) Christian Bale - Way before Batman, this guy stood out from the crowd. He's just one of a kind. And another hot serial killer in American Psycho .

36) Bill Pullman - I fell for him hard in While You Were Sleeping - he's just so sweet! And a great actor in everything, even bad movies.

37) Josh Hartnett - Just damn gorgeous. And he knows it. But I love that about him.

38) Casey Affleck - Way more interesting than his brother - Casey is someone who needs more exposure, because he's talented and cute.

39) Ben Harper - one of my musician crushes. Laura Dern is a lucky girl: Ben Harper is super talented, and super sexy!

40) Daniel Day-Lewis - Another of my early crushes, mostly because of his talent, but also he's flipping gorgeous in the Last of the Mohicans - wow!

41) Anthony Perkins - I must have a thing for actors who play psychotic characters. But it's not Norman Bates I love - it's Anthony's other roles, and his real life persona - so sweet and beautiful.

42) Kelly Slater - the one athlete on my list, Kelly is just amazing in and out of the water. Stunning surfer's body - and check him out in some surfing videos - incredible talent!

43) Rodrigo Santoro - I'll admit I've only seen him in one movie 300 , but I caught some photos of him without that costume, and he's so gorgeous.

44) Terrence Howard - Classy, confident, talented, and very handsome.

45) Paul Newman - A very early crush (my sister had a crush on him first) - Paul Newman was one of a kind. And maybe he beats Cillian for the most beautiful eyes ever. I miss you Paul!

46) Tom Welling - Gorgeous as Clark Kent, I hope he'll get off that show and do some other stuff.

47) Jeffrey Dean Morgan - Papa Winchester on Supernatural - sexiest dad ever.

48) David Duchovny - Agent Mulder and Agent Scully should have had sex - I envisioned it many times... and David is another actor, like Cillian Murphy, who plays a very beautiful woman.

49) Skeet Ulrich - Yummy in Scream and other movies.

50) Sondre Lerche - I just discovered this Norwegian musician - very talented, young, and cute!

51) Josh Holloway - he makes me realize I should have kept watching Lost ... but I guess there's always the dvd's!

52) Alexander Skarsgard - the son of actor Stellan Skarsgard, and the sexiest vampire on True Blood - he's one to keep an eye on!

53) Gael Garcia Bernal - Super talented, and super gorgeous - I fell for him as a young Che in Motorcycle Diaries .

54) Al Pacino - I've loved Al Pacino forever - he's so feisty, angry, hot-tempered - every role he's played is memorable. and when he was younger wow he was so so beautiful.

55) Viggo Mortensen - last but not at all least... from the Lord of the Rings series to Eastern Promises (nice naked locker room scene), Viggo has stunned me with his exquisiteness (yea that's probably not a word, but it's late and I've been working on this forever)... He's pretty amazing, for sure!

So any coherent thoughts?
I didn't think so...
good night - I'll be having pleasant dreams:)

You have Ewan and Christian, so we're good already ;) But you also have Jake, and Lee, and Gael !

I don't watch Supernatural, I'm waiting for the end of the series, but I do like Jensen a lot. I'm beginning to understand why James Franco attracts so many women. Harrison, of course ! A big crush as Han Solo. Keanu I liked in Dangerous liaisons and Speed but I was never more interested than that. Kyle McLachlan, I liked him in Dune, and then Twin Peaks (and I definitely have to watch Blue Velvet now ;D) Ryan Gosling, I only saw him in Stay, because of Ewan. I wanted to see Lars and the real girl but missed it in the theaters. I like Ralph Fiennes more and more. Have you seen In Bruges ? I love that movie ! JRM, you cannot love Velvet Goldmine as much as I do and not appreciate him at least for his sexiness. I love The Tudors too, though he's not my favourite character. Aaron Eckhart, if only because he was a great Harvey Dent in the fantastic The Dark Knight. James Spader was the cutest thing in Stargate (he was probably the reason I gave a try to the TV show and fell in love with the guy who replaced him as Daniel Jackson) and Sex, lies and videotapes. Gregory Peck was maybe my favourite of those leading men of the past, he shone in Spellbound. Bill Pulman was so sweet in While you were sleeping ! And David Duchovny was wonderful as Mulder, I just lost interest in the X-files when he left.

we do seem to have lots of common interests:) I loved Harrison as Han Solo too, but I really fell for him as Indiana Jones. I loved Ryan in Stay - and I recommend you see the movies Half Nelson and The United States of Leland also with Ryan - he's very good. I haven't yet watched In Bruges , though I have it on a dvd. Agent Mulder was the best! If you like David, you should also check him out as a cross dressing FBI agent on Twin Peaks - second season. he's hilarious! I stopped watching X-files when he left too - it's like Smallville without Lex Luthor!
I was telling [profile] winterdahlia that Aaron Eckhart was so good in Conversations with Other Woman . if you haven't seen that yet, I recommend it!

curious - why haven't you watched Supernatural yet? it's been renewed for a fifth season - it's such a good show! Jensen has talent, and I hope he does more than just Supernatural and horror films.

I rarely have time to watch movies, so it's worse for a weekly commitment, and I dislike more and more watching series in French (only a few network air TV shows and movies in their original language, or give the choice between dubbed and original versions). So there are quite a few shows for which I prefer to wait, and I'll watch them once they'll be over. I love DVDs ;) This way I don't get mad with end of seasons' cliffhangers and I avoid most of the fandom wars.

I never really thought of it that way - about watching the series when it's over and avoiding the end of season cliffhangers. I did watch all six seasons of Six Feet Under on DVD - because I couldn't watch it when it was on tv (the cable channel is too expensive). and I do like watching shows on DVD - you can do at your leisure and go back and watch good parts again!

the dubbing issue I can relate to as well. when I was in Japan, they often showed American movies, but I didn't always have the option to watch with English, rather than the Japanese dubbing. also here, if I rent foreign films, i want to watch with the original language and English subtitles, so I can get a feel for the real language. so I can understand why you'd want to watch Supernatural or other shows in English and French subtitles. it's more authentic:)

Not to mention that it's really irritating when you know and love an actor's voice to hear him with another, and it's even worse if the dubbing is badly done and the words don't match at all what he's saying ;)

yes some actors have distinctive voices, and you love to hear them talk. plus a lot of meaning is lost in translation.
