I've never really been a fan of vampire-related stuff, although, I've always loved the original Buffy movie with Kristy Swanson (and I'm not pleased that they are going to remake it!) I never got into the Buffy TV show, though.

But I did finally watch Twilight the other night, and I was really surprised by how much I liked it! And I know a lot of people hate it and all the related hype, but I really enjoyed it and am actually looking forward to the sequel. I'm going to give the books a shot, too.

Re: Dark Shadows. I'm not familiar with the original TV show but, oh, did I LOL over the fact that it's yet another Depp/Burton collaboration. I mean, is it possible for Burton to do a movie without Johnny Depp?? Jeeez. Anyway, I hope for your sake that they manage to do it justice! :-)

actually after I watched Twilight for the first time I really liked it too. And it's not a terrible movie. I'm not one of the absolute haters, but I prefer vampire movies either with more adult themes, or with more sarcasm (like the first Buffy movie, which I also loved!) - I love your icon by the way!! I never got into the Buffy tv show either, wonder why... anyway, I do think that if anyone can pull off a remake of something gothic like Dark Shadows, it will be Tim Burton. and with Johnny Depp it should be easy on the eyes! wonder who they'll cast as his love interest - would have to be someone dark haired and gorgeous... Jennifer Connelly??

Oooh, Jennifer Connelly and Johnny Depp in love--I would definitely watch that! YES. :-D

Re: Twilight...I was so surprised that I actually liked it because I was so prepared to loathe it. And it's definitely got its flaws, but I just loved the setting and the cinematography and just the whole feel of the movie. I actually just started reading the first book and I already see why some have said it's not very well written. But I'm just going to enjoy it for what it is...definitely not great literature but a good page-turner! :-)

I wasn't really sure if I'd like Twilight - I was just curious. you know that it's set (and partially filmed) in Forks, Washington, which is just 45 minutes from where my parents live in northwestern WA. I've been through there a few times. the northwest is very beautiful and is a great place for an atmospheric movie like Twilight - I do have to give them credit for that.

I've been wanting to read the books too - also out of curiosity. hope you enjoy them:)
*hugs*
