I just found out that FlashForward has been canceled. it's official. Why does every ABC show I ever like get canceled???? this was actually one of the only shows I've been with since the beginning, and I was starting to really like it. now I'll have to replace it with something else - preferably something that won't get canceled. I guess I'll start watching Dr. Who - finally!

And in other TV news... I watched the season 5 finale of Supernatural - and all I can say is Wow! I know I'm not very profound. I have no really deep things to say about tonight's show, or this season in general. But the end wasn't as I would have expected. Which isn't good or bad. It just is. And it just confirms how much I love this show. And how glad I am that it's been renewed. I can't my imagine life without the Winchesters in it. Really it's true.

now I'm waiting for the latest FF to download. only three more episodes left. I'm going to watch them, just to see how they resolve everything - IF they resolve everything... but it seems kind of useless doesn't it? I'll only end up wishing for more. *sigh*

I'm an episode or two behind on Supernatural too. I foresee catch-up TV in my future.

yes it's a pity but I guess we expected it. I was hoping the recent interest would keep it going, but ABC is weird. they cancel stuff all the time! even when it's got a following, like Pushing Daisies did. oh well!

I'll start watching Dr. Who this summer when other shows are on break. yay! someone uploaded a bunch the other day, so maybe I'll start downloading and saving them on a disk.

oh I can't wait until you see the finale of SPN!

I see Heroes has been cancelled too - I'm not surprised about that. It's been boring and baffling for a while now.

You'll enjoy Dr Who, I bet. Like all shows, some episodes are better than others, but we love them all.

Shame FF's been cancelled, but that extended hiatus probably didn't help!

I'm also glad SPN is continuing, and if all goes to plan I'll be watching the finale very soon!!

Oh and yes, do watch Doctor Who!!

I know that the extended hiatus killed this show. but the ratings were improving recently so I thought it had some hope. ABC does this all the time though!

if SPN was done, I'd be in mourning. so I'm very happy we have another season to look forward to!

I was afraid that FF would get the ax :( I just had a feeling about it. Enjoy the last 3 episodes and don't give up hope! Shows that have been canceled have been picked up by other networks and revived - SouthLAnd for example :o)

oh it would be great if another network picked up FF - but I'm afraid it's just not so popular. I loved it though!

I think I was telling you that if FF was canceled, I'd fill the gap with Dr. Who. I'm gonna start downloading them and watch throughout the summer.
it will take me awhile to catch up, but it's possible.

Awwwwwwwwwwwww! I'm sorry they canceled your show. I hate it when they kill off a show you love. I'm still bitter about the X-Files. :-p

Nope... I'll never be over the X-Files. I've been deprived of my Scully! :-)

most of the shows I've always really liked were intelligent shows - like Northern Exposure, X-Files, Pushing Daisies, even Twin Peaks... though that was more of a mind fuck really - good old David Lynch. But it's the silly stupid shows that keep going, like 90210 or Melrose Place or Desperate Housewives... etc. of course I'm very happy that my Winchesters (Supernatural) are still going. that has a very good factor in it's favor - eye candy!

do you own the X-Files DVD's? you should invest!!!

I am slowly investing in the X-Files DVD's. I am trying to get decent prices on them because most of the sets I've found are over 100 bucks! Yikes!

Twin Peaks was an amazing show. I loved it so much. But yeah, most of the garbage on today is just... well... garbage.

I have the two seasons of Twin Peaks on DVD - I loved that show! I have been trying to go back and finish season 2, but just haven't had time.

It's totally expensive. And I love Twin Peaks too... so odd and quirky and so damn good!

SPN made me cry, poor Sam and Dean! All the flashback in the Impala, beautiful. *sniffles*

oh I was all choked up on this episode. Dean nearly killed me at the end when he was all broken, but still supporting Sammy! and when Lucifer killed Cas and Bobby I almost died! thank God for bringing them back!! and the Impala stuff was so awesome!

I know!! I love FF too - it is a good show! why does ABC cancel good shows? they did it with Pushing Daisies too!

I'm trying to go back a few days on my flist and your post attracted me as I was a crying mess at the end of the SPN finale ;)

I am so glad too that we'll get another season ! (especially after that ending) I'm always pissed off when I keep reading people saying that they don't want more seasons because they don't want another Smallville. If you don't like it, don't watch it but let me be happy with my show as long as I can ! Not all episodes will be fabulous, no season is perfect from the beginning to the end, but we can always get some great ones with our beloved characters. Really, I don't know if you watched it but it's Stargate SG1 season 9 and 10 all over again...

I know how you feel - this was such an emotional episode! and I think actually that the next season will be even better - because now they're kind of done with this whole Angel/Demon "end of the world" scenario, so if Sam comes back (which he has to), then the boys can go back to fighting demons together, and going on the road in the Impala.

I agree - people shouldn't give up on Supernatural - I don't think it will go the way Smallville did. For one, they haven't lost characters, and there are still lots of things they can do with the Winchesters! not all episodes of every show are awesome - but it's always enjoyable!!

so now we just wait... three or four months until the start of Season 6!

Oh yes, I so hope we'll get back to the feeling of seasons 1 & 2. As much as I love the intensity of the latest episodes, a bit of fun and light now and then is good too ;) I want Dean happy, and Sam happy with him ! And I want the brothers fighting together, that's all. I don't mind Castiel at all, I like him most of the time, but even the angel vs. demon storyline has to end after a while.

Apparently, the network will move the show to Friday evening for season 6. So many people are angry about this, I hope it won't be a problem for you ?

I want the boys happy too - and traveling on the road in the Impala conquering evil! I love Castiel, and wouldn't mind him on the show - as long as the focus remains the boys!

oh they're moving it to Fridays? that's not a good day for tv shows in the states, for ratings. but it doesn't matter to me, since I'm in Japan and get the show by download anyway. I can watch it on Saturday afternoons or evenings.

do you get the show on your networks in France?

Yes, we do. They usually show a whole season in a few months once it's already over in the USA. I tried to watch last year as they were showing season 3 but the dubbing was atrocious (it might be better this year as the whole country is going with the "numérique" (digital ?) so the networks can give you the choice of the language). And I heard they didn't even show the finale ! I would have been very pissed off if I had waited for it to know the ending...

I'm like you, I'll watch it on Saturdays and it will be even easier to avoid spoilers like this. But it's sad if the ratings go down because of this change.

oh I couldn't stand watching the show dubbed. it's been popular here in Japan, but I've never seen it on Japanese tv. we don't have satellite or anything.

let's hope that the ratings stay good for SPN next season. I have a feeling that this may be the last season though - what more can they do? I'll miss it though if that's the case!

I couldn't stand it either, and it's not even my own language ;) But I love the guys' voices, and I love English, so no dubbing for me.

I guess they went for a kind of hiatus. They didn't use to do that but they do now. I loved that network when it was first created, they used to show a lot of series (dubbed but it was still good to get them, we didn't have many networks back then), two or three eps in a row and in order (now when they show more than one ep per night, they're usually from different seasons, which makes no sense at all), but now it's all about reality shows and I can't stand that. I tried to watch Bones again this year but I missed most of the eps because they cut the season many times instead of showing it entirely at once, and they changed the day and I didn't realized it was back. So I gave up and just waited for the DVDs.

It will probably be the last SPN season, if only because the Js will probably go and do something else once their contracts are over, and I'll miss it too. I get a very surprising pleasure in watching it in "real time" and see the reactions of fandom, even if at times I don't agree at all ;)

sorry for such a late reply here. I get so busy I forget to reply to comments and emails! do you really think that this will be the last SPN season? I do understand that Jensen and Jared might want to do other things - they've been doing this for longer than they probably intended or imagined. we'll all miss the Winchesters, but I'd love to see both actors in other projects (of course besides the bad horror movies they've done!)

Apparently, Jensen just said yesterday at the Rising Con that he doesn't believe it will be the last season. I don't know how sure he can be so early but I'm all for that, so let's be optimistic ! Jared might seem a bit less enthusiastic about going on with the show but Jensen is looking forward to direct at least this one episode in a few weeks so I can understand why he'd like to go on :) I wish they could do both SPN (I adore Dean, and love Sam and the show so much !) and many other projects (besides horror movies, good or bad, I don't like that), and also get the recognition they both more than deserve.

And by the way, I had made something for your birthday...

oh my goodness, I'm so sorry I missed your birthday on the 24th! I've been really sick for the last two weeks with a virus that just won't go away. plus it's the rainy season here in Japan and very hot and humid and uncomfortable. so I have no energy these days. Anyway, I do hope you had a great birthday!!!!
and you made something for my birthday? I'm sorry I didn't see that either. I haven't been a very good LJ'er lately.

I do hope that SPN continues as long as it can - but of course Jensen and Jared in other projects will be good too. nothing can replace SPN when it's gone though. it's a very unique and special show!

I never actually even heard of Flash Forward... but I can tell you ABC sucks. I am still mad because they cancelled Miracles mid-season... and that was like eight years or so ago. *laughs* I am a dork...

I've been thinking of watching Doctor Who myself. They have it on Netflix, so it's easier...
I still need to finish True Blood's first season! Wow... I am really slacking!

well sadly I hardly ever watch shows from the start, and I did watch FlashForward from the start, and it's getting canceled. so I'm pissed. ABC canceled Pushing Daisies in the middle of it's second season too - and it was a fantastic show! ABC fails miserably!

Doctor Who is on my list of shows to download. there's a lot to catch up on...
