Just finished watching Supernatural's premiere. And I'm really not sure what to think. I kept waiting for something big to happen, and I kept waiting for that feeling of adrenalin that I always get when I watch it. But nothing happened. No Impala. No Castiel. Very little action. Not even any sparks between Sam and Dean. I really hope it gets better. Am I alone on this? what did everyone else think??

To be honest I still havent seen half of last season as i was getting kinda ugh GET ONE WITH IT....*badfan* :(

well it was getting a little long-winded last season too. but I stuck it out, and I was hoping for more sparks this time! oh well. hopefully they still have time to please the fans - perhaps they need some shows written by fans!

I felt so sad for the distance between Sam and Dean. :\ However Dean's relationship with Ben is adorable, he's a good dad. :)

yea I think it's wonderful that Dean can find happiness with Lisa and Ben - but I guess I feel that's not his path. He has to be in the Impala, with Sammy, fighting the good fight. I missed their talks at the end of the episode, and the brotherly love. they are far too distant now. but perhaps things will change. it's just the beginning:)

I hope so much that things change back to their normal behaviour too, it's too sad if it continues with this cool distance between them. I think Dean will realize that he can't stay with Lisa and Ben, and he's going to have to be a hunter, and that's his life, it's going to be hard for him, but it's what is, his destiny. Hopefully nothing happens to L and B, I think it would be pretty awful if they died too.

I think the show is just slow to start this season, and soon they will be back to working together and on the same team at least. but there is a lot of distance, especially with the introduction of the other hunters. I think Lisa and Ben will be ok... they're special to Dean and no reason to make them leave the show just yet. they add a different dynamic. But at least Dean's back in the Impala again!! Yay!

I was ok with it in that they're just now getting back into the swing of things after thwarting the apocalypse. I think the adrenaline rushes will come later on - right now it's sort of a state of shock for Dean and ... well, something's going on with Sam. I'm hanging in there with my boys :o) I missed them so!

maybe you're right - they're just taking it slow. But usually the first episode is faster-paced, and has more fun fight scenes and the great talks between Sam and Dean. I want them to be the way they were! I love that Dean is happy with Lisa and Ben, but that's not his path, I don't think. And he needs to drive his beloved Impala!
oh I'm not quitting the show. I love it way too much:) I guess I was just disappointed that the show seemed thrown together and without any real plan. But perhaps my expectations were a bit too high:(

I hate to say it, but I'm not sure if they really can get back to the way they were - does that make any sense? Too much between them now maybe, or too much time since Sam came back and he didn't let Dean know. It's hard to put my thoughts into words for some reason. It may take Dean a while to get over that.

I don't think your expectations were too high - you're not the only person I've heard voice your thoughts :o)

yes you make perfect sense. I think you're right about Sam and Dean - they may never be the same. it will be interesting to see where they take this now - it might be a totally different show than what we're accustomed to.

My main problem is the mysterious resurrection thing, I thought there'd be more to Sam's little appearance at the end of last season. Especially as the lights flickered when he was standing there watching Dean with Lisa and Ben through the window. And I don't know if it's just because we last saw him possessed by old yellow eyes, but I have trouble seeing Samuel as a good guy!

I guess the writers know what they are doing, there are obviously a few things set up for a bigger story to unfold. I'm gearing up to write one of my summary/reviews, so I'll post some more thoughts then!

But still, at least it's back! :D

I wanted more explanation about his standing outside Dean's place too - and how he got back and what he's been doing. lots of questions.

let's hope the writers know what they're doing. my guess is they don't - because the show was written for that 5-year story arc, which is done. so where they will take it now is a whole new show.

but yes it's back!
