well I thought I was coming down with something before the weekend, but it turned out I was just fine...

only now I AM sick. my throat is sore and I feel like someone ran me over with a cement truck. my head feels all flat. does that make sense? think I will stay home from work tomorrow. we are nightmarishly busy, so busy that my friend said it's like we are swimming upstream. there's no end to the work, but I feel I need to stay home and rest. and be alone. it's necessary.

I had my first lesson in knitting today from my friend [profile] iilii and it was tough. it looks so easy but really it's not. but I'm determined. and tonight I cast my first three stitches by myself!! yay!! I have a LONG way to go, but it's a start.

oh, if I owe you a reply or haven't commented, please forgive me. we went out Saturday and Sunday nights to hear live music. Saturday night we went to the Green Mill, a very cool jazz club, but it was too crowded. it took us over 30 minutes to find a parking spot (which was about 10 blocks away, not so fun in a dodgy neighborhood and in cold weather), and then we had to stand because all the tables were gone. we stayed only one set, stopped by the blues club where M used to play to see who was playing, and got home before 11 p.m. Sunday night M had a chance to play a set with his former band at a very cool little BBQ joint called "Smoke Daddy". It's in an up and coming neighborhood near downtown called Bucktown - so the crowd was young and mellow. and we had an awesome pulled pork sandwich - yummy!

so maybe all the going out is why I'm sick. or could it be that my life has just been too busy and too up and down? who knows... but I need to play catch up.

take care of yourselves and stay well and warm.

I woke up yesterday with a sore throat and today (after a very restless night), I feel a whole lot worse.
I hope we both feel better soon.
Keep up with the knitting, it's well worth it. It's an achievement when you can wear something that you've stitched yourself. (And, it's so much cheaper, when you hear the patter of tiny feet, to clothe the little people!)

aww I hope you feel better soon. mine is still lingering, but I guess I'll go to work tomorrow. I just feel kind of tired and achy- not sure what it is.

I think I'll enjoy knitting once I get the hang of it:) I just haven't gotten it yet, though ^_^

Awwww *sends chicken soup*

People can MAKE themselves sick, it's true. You can literally "stress" yourself sick, or "busy" yourself sick. I've done it to myself. Plus, it's that time of year and I know where I live, everyone seems sick lol. Sounds like you deserve a good day of being home and resting. I'm sure Leo will make a great pillow for sick mommy:D

thanks for the chicken soup:)

I totally agree with you about making yourself sick. I think that all of the stress I've had over the last month caught up with me and I needed today to just stay at home and do my own things. plus rest:) and yes, Leo did make a good pillow - he's sleeping all day too:)

thanks. I think I'll be better after today of just being at home and resting.

knitting is something I just got the urge to do - and I haven't quite learned it yet. it will take some practice, but I want to do it:)

no you didn't make me sick, hon! I just got sick from weeks and weeks of stress and lack of rest. so today was MY day - I stayed home, did stuff on the computer, practiced my knitting (I'm still terrible) and drank tea:)

thanks, and I hope you are better soon too!! *hugs and snuggles*

Oh, good. *pets* I would love to learn to knit, but I always have some trouble being a southpaw. :\

hehe southpaw - that's a cute term. a leftie huh? that's what makes you so unique. but I guess something like knitting would be tough if you are not a right hander. it's tough enough anyway to learn:)

are you feeling all better now? I hope so!! *hug*
