I am planning on posting pics from Tokyo and the museum today... just have to get motivated and off my lazy butt! But in the meantime, enjoy these little bits of Japanese humour that I found today online:
This first link shows an attempt to satirize the actually serious posters that are being placed on Japanese trains to encourage better manners (to get train riders to be less rude towards others while riding trains). If you click on the poster, you'll see the "real" poster that it's satirizing. the satirical poster also includes a reference to an apparently big problem in Japan, which is train groping (men grabbing women's asses while they're riding on a crowded train). If you also click this link, you can see all of the posters that have been put on trains regarding manners. They're pretty funny, especially the ones regarding drunken behaviour and putting on makeup! You wouldn't believe how many girls sit on the trains and fix their makeup when they already look perfect! But to be honest, that's the only rude behaviour I witnessed on trains while I was in Tokyo. For the most part, people sit quietly, or speak to their friends very quietly, and no one was drinking or eating or groping (thankfully! LOL!)...
and this picture may as well have been taken in Japan, but it was actually taken at a Walmart in Georgia, and is originally from the PeopleofWalmart.com website (which is well worth a visit if you haven't)! This hapless girl is wearing what appears to be a dead wookie on her feet, and Hello Kitty on her back... she'd fit in quite well in Tokyo, though:)
